As IPS has announced its end of life on IPB 2.3.6 I have decided to do the same, I cannot spend too much time on the old IPB 2.3.6 when IPB 3.0.x and hopefully the new IPB 3.1.x will be offering a lot more options and flexibility.
Therefore I will discontinue updates, but I will try to improve the upgrades from IPB 2.3.6's MSEO to IPB 3.x.x MSEO.
I also have decided to place the native FURL as the default as it has been proven to be working really good on http://www.neowin.net/. From statistics they have provided they are running a board without any optimisation to the FURL. So we should learn from it to leave the FURL that is provided by default, unless it needs to be tweaked, which is where the future of MSEO will be heading.
I have decided, since looking at the issues with MSEO 2, that there are several issues which affects the FURL mostly, which is causing a lot of conflict with IPS's own brand products. For the next release of MSEO I will be improving the structure of the FURL in a different way, to be more integrated with IPB with little to no edits on the FURL.
There are issues that I cannot fix due to MSEO's furl being too flexible.
What this will mean is that meta improvement, etc... will be improved but the original MSEO furl will be runned through IPB's own native FURL. The generator will be changed fully.
If you have any feedback or comment on this I will take it to consideration.
