Proxy Alert

wersja drukowalna wersja Microsoft Word wersja HTML

First of all let me say that there is no way all the proxy servers can be recognised as there are millions of them out there. This application is tested with more than a dozen proxies and it recognised 9 out of 12. Only 3 slipped through unrecognised.

Another thing to consider is that some Universities, Companies or Countries, like Singapore for ex, access the web through a gateway proxy. So users coming from that country or using Pc's from Universities, Libraries or Companies that get access online through proxies will get the proxy alert pm as well.  It may affect some AOL users too.

So please keep these things in mind before you purchase this aplication.

That being said, this application will scan the registrations of the new users and whenever a new user is registered behind a suspected proxy server it will send a pm alert to that user letting him know that you are aware that they registered with a suspected proxy server and give him/her a chance to explain him/her self.

It will also create a new automatic topic at a forum of your choice, where you can alert your staff about the fact that someone registered behing a suspected proxy server.

Installation and Configuration:

To install this application, upload the admin folder inside the Upload folder to the root of your forum folder. Then go to your Admin Panel->Applications & Modules->Manage Applications & Modules and on the right side where it says: Applications Not Installed you will see a new application added called: Proxy Alert. Click on the install button.

To configure it go to the Other Apps tab then from the drop down list choose Proxy Alert and it will take you to the Settings area where you can configure it accordingly to your needs/likings.

Several screenshots of the Application are attached below so it will give you a more detailed idea on how it looks like when being used
