We have updated our old phpnuke forum to ipb 3.2.3.
Everything went fine but all old post where smileys is used the have only the text of the smiley and if we push to edit the post en do nothing en we save again the smiley appears.
Why dos'nt work it at the first time?

At an initial login on the board index online list I noted it was showing my login name not my display name.

Logging out and back in again and it was OK this time, the usermenu etc was correct in showing my display name, not quite suire why it did it though I do not seem to be able to reproduce it again at the moment. Posting this more as a note in case there's more going on than appears.

I have had a weird problem for a long time on my forums and only now managed to track it down.
I did not investigate all the details, but apparently some of the records in core_like table are marked as invisible

Now, I try to follow topic that I am already following, but like_visible is set to 0 for some reason. In this case isLiked() function, which calls getDataByMemberIdAndRelationshipId() function, cannot find this record, since it has hard-coded condition of "like_visible=1". Therefore it proceeds with adding a record to core_like, but since generated primary key happens to be the same, I get a unique constraint violation error.

I am not sure what like_visible is supposed to mean, but in either case it seems to me that isLiked() either should return existing record or do validation in a way that insert() does not fail afterwards

This is a weird situation, but.. I can kinda see the logic behind it.

If you use CDN, or remote image loading.. Minify should be off.. If it's on.. Then CSS content is served local.. but.. What if you want that? You just basically want to load the images remotely.. With minify enabled, your CSS is still pulled locally, minified, and images are served remotely.

It seems to work well, with one gallery exception, that being slideshow.

If you have no browser cache / data present and login to an upgraded (it seems usually upgraded) board via the popup, upon redirection if the board is in a subdir, you are sent up a level.

I've had it happen a few times with a few builds but never really was able to reproduce it. As an example, I have this structure:

localwebroot/_qa/ (then several boards for differing versions)

What happens is (have just tried it with a couple of them) when I login to say "13up" after the redirection / splash I am sent to the QA dir not to the board index. I though it odd so just tried with the "330fresh" one and it did the same.

I hope that makes a bit of sense.

In ACP section article Confuguration in Forum tab I set up when new article will be created, a new topic will be started in Test forum. I created two articles, but no one topic was started in desired forum.

In IPS.gallery_uploader.js you move the uploadFieldWrap "away":

In ACP when I select under Promote article settings in section Can copy post to article some group(s) and the same groups I select in section Can move post to article, I get fatal error:

The auth_text language string is not properly using sprint_f. Instead the email address is appended to the end of the default string and the additional thank you text is prepended. This is not ideal for internationalisation.

The blog this sharelinks plugin *mostly* works with IP.Content (after some fixes I just made), however there is one issue that I cannot resolve or work around within Content itself.

This works fine when we run IP.Content from within the forums (using the IPB furl system), however when IP.Content runs outside of the forums the $_app isn't detected properly (and thus the extension file isn't loaded) because the URL does not match up with the FURL regex. It can't, as the admin is able to completely define the URL from start to finish.

I'm not sure the best way to handle this. A few options:

• Assume IP.Content if no $_app is detected, and call a special method that we can define in the IP.Content plugin which will check to see if it is, and if so return the appropriate data, otherwise return a special status so the blog this plugin knows to treat it as generic content.
  
• Let each extension define another method which can be called to check URLs that the generic checking couldn't verify (IP.Content is likely the only app that would need this, at least internally)

Its possible to click "Login" on a banned member which then results in you not being able to logout of the front end due to banned status unless you unban them.

I think I'm sort of suggesting the 'login' should not operate if the member is flagged as banned.

I see no way to delete project versions once they are added. The code seems to exist to perform the deletion in the database, but I no way to trigger it via the UI.

There's currently no way to customize how many severity levels there are to select from. In my install, I only need two levels, so I have to resort to hacking the code to get rid of the extra ones. Would be nice if the severity levels were customizable like versions are.

Also, I believe that the number prefixes (eg. '1 - ', etc) should be part of the language pack and not hard-coded into the dropdowns; I personally think they add unneccessary clutter to the UI and it would be great to be able to get rid of them.

Currently, there are access checks for 'Locked' and 'Staff Only' access types for project versions, which prevent versions from appearing in dropdowns where they shouldn't. However, these access checks are not taking into account the fact that if an issue is edited, it should always include the currently selected version in the dropdown, otherwise a previously set version can be wiped out if a user edits an issue which is set to a version they normally can't access.

I believe the attached patch accomplishes what's needed:

Possible stupid question, but how does a user see a list of all the content they selected to track via IP.Tracker? I see no obvious way to do this. It looks like the notifications list only shows stuff that's had activity since you started tracking it.

I sure hope I'm just missing something, because this seems like a critical feature for a module that helps you track stuff.

While there's an admin UI item for enabling/disabling filtering by custom fields, and a database table column to store the setting, there doesn't seem to be any code to actually put the filters into either the project page or the advanced search page. All I see are some commented out stubs in the skin files.

It would be nice if the custom field dropdown options was exposed as a hook. For example, this would enable a custom field to be populated with a plugin that returns some portion of the member list.

Custom fields can't be set to dropdowns, because the Dropdown Options setting isn't saved, which means the field can never have any values. Searching about, I see no code that either loads or saves any data to the tracker_module_custom_option table, which appears to be where this data is to be managed.

Currently, the default version for a project can only be set to one of the actual versions added. What if the project admin doesn't want a specific version to be selected by default? It would be nice if the "No Version Assigned" option also appeared on the version admin form so that it could be selected as the version default.

This bug has two components:

• Currently, the skin is hard-coded to add a field_dropdown_ id tag to all fields in the Issue Information table. Problem is, text fields aren't dropdowns. The JS happily exposes the text fields for editing anyways because of this problem.
  
• However, there's no support code for updating these text fields via AJAX like there is with the dropdowns.

This leads to the rather poor UX of trying to edit the text fields that appear, only to never have the information saved.

Tested only in Chrome 16.

Couple issues with the Gallery slideshow block I noticed:

1) On new installs, the slider images aren't there (CSS calls to "ipc_blocks/gallery_images_1325776623/scroller.png" which doesn't exist according to Firebug)

2) If you mouse over the image and mouse out, the image immediately changes. You can create a strobe effect by mousing over, off, over, off. I know it is designed to pause and resume, and I assume that is what triggers this.

That's the code in /admin/applications_addon/ips/blog/extensions/rssOutput.php.. For some reason there's 2 different link settings there, and the second one is the problem... Not sure why there are two there, and the second one is the one that causes a problem, so.. I just commented it out, because.. The first one seems to be accurate and work.

My computer seems to have a mind of its own lately, so this morning I did a complete reformat / factory reset. I'll be spending the next few hours getting all my software back on it and doing system updates, etc. I'll be able to check in throughout the day for support issues, but I will not be working on any skin upgrades until I'm done with my computer issues.

On my test install I added an "Articles" tab in addition to the default tab, and when viewing articles both tabs are lit up.

Following the language system changes made yesterday, all language files are not recaching properly.

I just did an SVN export and then ran through a typical default installation. Only the language files for the 'core' application were cached to disk, however, even though I installed all applications. Obviously this means the front end is a little...broken.



Recaching languages from ACP does not resolve the issue.

Using the ckeditor mode

1) Use the image button to put in an image.
2) Click on the image and center it with the center button.
3) Use the special bbcode button to put it in spoiler tags.
4) Instead of putting your image in spoiler tags it just adds a new line with html code for the image.

Create two new forums.

Add some topics with tags to one of those forums.

Delete forum in ACP moving topics to other forum.

Go to that forum where the topics were moved to, click on tags to check search/index.

Nothing.

Confirmed by adding a topic and adding a tag in the new forum with the moved topics. New topic tags are indexed fine. I found this after doing some serious forum pruning and moving of topics. Adding a ton of tags, then moving the topics.

This is *specifically* with the ACP "Delete forum" and then choosing to move all existing topics/posts to another forum during that operation.

If I move these now non-indexed posts again the usual way, they are back to being indexed and are fine.


I guess it deletes the tags from the index when the forum is deleted but the posts still retain the tags which is a good thing as it should be easily repairable? Maybe? Pretty please? I'd appreciate a SQL query to patch this stuff up and/or the code to patch this in the ACP Delete Forum bit - still more crap to cull/move in our forums and I do not look forward to doing page by page...

when there are more than 1000 forums are created in the Board, the whole server gets a heavy load problem. The impressions and user activity does not increase, so it can be localized to just the existance of these additional forums. If the category, containing these forums, is hidden, the load is normal again. So it seems that the caching does not work properly.

Attached to this post you can see a graph of the load difference when the forums are active and when not. Additionally, here is a quote of a query which highly increases, when these forums are active:

Is there any way to improve performance for just having more than 50 forums only in a board? I don't think that's a big deal to cash a higher amount of forums on a better way.

Create two groups of members: Members and VIP
Allow VIP to create member's private albums.
Do not allow Members to create any albums (neither public, nor private).
Create private member album "Friends only" as VIP.

As administrator change the group of VIP member to Members.

Result: Former VIP member can open his album and edit it, upload images into it even as a Member he has not permission to have an album.

Desired: Do not allow members without own album permission edit albums or upload images into it.

If you have Force guests to login enabled, and FB treated as part of the members group.. You still can't share.. Now.. That's a really tricky call.. because, it opens up User Agent spoofing if you allow FB to see the content..

But.. I can certainly see users who would want to share the content, but still force guests to login.. It's almost like you should allow it, but, with a warning that if you have Force Guests to login set to off, if you set FB to the members group, it will allow spoofing. BUT.. Then again.. We already allow spoofing.

If you set FB to be in members group.. Then if Force Guests is off, it could be spoofed where a non-member could see content that perhaps they shouldn't.

So.. I don't know.. That's tricky.. I'll leave that for thought, but.. This part is what the bug report is about.. If you DO have Force Guests to login enabled, then when and if you share content, FB gets

If the first one is not checked, then the second does not apply? Is it WAI? It seems to me that these are two different permissions.

1. Can create global albums?
2. Can create private albums?

Fresh install. I wondered why there were no pictures being displayed in index view when I cut off outbound communication.

The account used to install the board and a test member (added via the ACP) both attempt to use a gravatar, well kind of.

The photo thumb image location (bear in mind the profile / photo page has not been visited at all) is:

Its parsed a bit messily but you can see what its doing. IDK if its doing it because 'allow gravatar' is enabled by default on a fresh installation or not.

The two hook files have their classes defined like this:

class enhancedRegisterForm_lib extends membersMemberSync

class birthdayRegisterForm_lib extends enhancedRegisterForm_lib

So the parent of birthdayRegisterForm_lib should be enhancedRegisterForm_lib, and the parent of enhancedRegisterForm_lib should be membersMemberSync. So when onCreateAccount gets called, it should start in birthdayRegisterForm_lib and do the stuff there, then it should call its parent, which is enhancedRegisterForm_lib, and it should do its stuff there, then it should call its parent, membersMemberSync.

This should work the same way as action overloaders, which function in a chain. It does appear to be a bug. It's sounding like library hooks aren't recursively grabbing each child class like they should.
